Beecarbonize is an accessible, yet complex simulation game that allows you to explore cutting-edge technologies, enact policies, and protect ecosystems in order to reduce carbon emissions. It presents you with the challenge of managing your resources effectively in order to survive in a world affected by climate change.

The game offers multiple paths to solving the climate change crisis and reducing pollution. However, it emphasizes that saving the planet is not an easy task, as the more carbon emissions you produce, the more extreme events you will need to navigate.

Your role in Beecarbonize is to steer society and industry, finding the balance between power-generating industries, social reforms, ecological policies, and scientific endeavors. You will need to make decisions such as whether to transition from fossil fuels quickly or focus on carbon capture technologies first. The game encourages experimentation and the willingness to start over if necessary.

The game features 235 unique cards that represent real-world climate science inventions, laws, social advancements, and industries. These cards can gradually be unlocked in the game encyclopedia, allowing you to chart your path towards a new future. In addition, random world events occur, forcing you to adapt your strategy.

The impact of your actions in Beecarbonize is reflected in the game world. More emissions lead to more floods or heatwaves, while investing in nuclear power raises the risk of a nuclear incident. By learning from each run of the game, you gain the knowledge necessary to overcome environmental catastrophes and social unrest, potentially averting the end of life on Earth.

A new Hardcore mode has been introduced for experienced players seeking the ultimate challenge. In Hardcore mode, you face the harsh reality of climate change and must defy the odds to save the planet, even in the most extreme scenario.
